About the ERS books

The ERS Monograph is the quarterly book series from the European Respiratory Society. Each Monograph covers a specific area of respiratory medicine, providing in-depth reviews that give clinicians at all levels a concise, comprehensive guide to symptoms, diagnosis and treatment.

The ERS Handbooks are compact guides to broad areas of the respiratory field. Launched in 2010, the series now covers adult, paediatric and sleep respiratory medicine, includes a companion volume of self-assessment questions and features the ERS Practical Handbooks.

ERS Monograph and ERS Handbooks – 3-month free trial for libraries

The European Respiratory Society (ERS) is offering academic libraries a 3-month online free trial of the ERS Monograph and ERS Handbook series.

The ERS Monographs are a long-running series, currently curated by Chief Editor Robert Bals, of Universitätsklinikum des Saarlandes, with each volume edited by guest editors who are at the top of their field.

Four books are published each year, covering respiratory topics as diverse as Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, Imaging, Controversies in COPD, Obstructive Sleep Apnoea and Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. The books are among the first to be hosted on HighWire Press’s new Folio books platform, where they can be viewed using the site’s reader interface or downloaded as PDFs for later reference.

The ERS Handbooks are compact guides to broad areas of the respiratory field. Launched in 2010, the series now covers adult, paediatric and sleep respiratory medicine, and a companion volume of self-assessment questions is available. In 2015, the first ERS Practical Handbook, on Noninvasive Ventilation, was added to the series
