Abstract
Contemporary requirements of medical science set the physician for an active search for risk factors in the development of bronchial asthma in children, as it can significantly affect the course of the disease, prognosis and treatment.
Objective: To evaluate the significance of risk factors in the development of bronchial asthma in children.
Methods: A total of 96 sick and 334 healthy children was observed. To assess the risk of bronchial asthma in children odds ratio value was calculated for binary feature on fourfold table and confidence interval for the odds ratio according to the method of Woolf.Control group - healthy children.
Results:A contribution of the following factors to the development of disease was proved "furnace heating" OR=9,09 (CI=3,89-21,3), living in a private countryside house OR=6,3 (CI=3,2-12,3); collection of carpets and mattresses in the apartment OR=1,73 (CI=1,1-2,73), bottle feeding OR=1,56 (CI=1,0-2,3), previous bronchitises with broncho-obstructive syndrome under the age of 1 year 6,8 (CI=2,6-17,4), the presence of smokers in the family OR=1,63 (CI=2,9-6,8). No convincing evidence of the involvement of the factor the presence of pets in the house in the development of the disease was received, though it was observed in 62,2% with OR=1,63 (CI=2,9-6,8), either of grandparents diagnosed with bronchial asthma OR=31,4 (CI=12,7-77,8), father diagnosed with allergic urticaria and bronchial asthma with OR=14,5 (CI=1, -31,2) and OR=12,8 (CI=3,5-47,6). All risk factors were evaluated from the point of controllability.
Conclusion:The data was presented proving correlation of risk factors with bronchialasthma in children; this allows marking a complex of measures for personalized primary preventive care.
