Summary: 
Objective biomarker-based algorithm to inform the selection of the most appropriate available biologic for individual patients with severe asthma. Eosinophils denote levels in the peripheral blood and/or sputum. #: mepolizumab is suggested if the prednisone requirement is <12.5 mg·day−1, while reslizumab or benralizumab is suggested if the prednisone requirement is ≥12.5 mg·day−1 (unpublished data). ¶: there are no approved non-type 2 (T2) therapies; consider macrolides, thermoplasty, etc.
